ασΤΡΟΝΟΜΙΑ
The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster in the constellation of Taurus, easily visible in the night sky for about 10 months of the year. This cluster is significant in mythology and was used in ancient times to mark the seasons for agricultural purposes. Comprised of about 1,000 stars, the Pleiades has an estimated lifespan of approximately 250 million years. The cluster is enclosed by diffuse nebulous matter, and at certain intervals, it is eclipsed by the Moon. In August 2024, there will be a partial eclipse visible from Athens, Greece.
